Screening of the Raman response in multiband superconductors: Application to iron pnictides

چکیده
We performed model calculations of Raman responses for multiband two-dimensional superconductors. The multiband effects of screening in the A1g symmetry channel were investigated analytically and numerically for a band-structure model mimicking angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy data on iron-pnictide materials. An acceptable agreement between our model calculations and recent experimental data is demonstrated by modification of the band-structure parameters.

Superconductivity in 122-Type Pnictides without Iron
The exploration of superconducting iron-free pnictides with a ThCr2Si2-type or related structure and the study of their superconducting properties are important in order to get a deeper understanding of the pairing mechanism of 122 iron pnictides. Here we review the properties of 122-type iron-free pnictides superconductors with structures similar to that of BaFe2As2. Evidence of fully gapped n...
متن کاملValley density-wave and multiband superconductivity in iron-based pnictide superconductors
The key feature of the Fe-based superconductors is their quasi-two-dimensional multiband Fermi surface. By relating the problem to a negative U Hubbard model and its superconducting ground state, we show that the defining instability of such a Fermi surface is the valley density-wave VDW , a combined spin/charge densitywave at the wave vector connecting the electron and hole valleys. As the val...
متن کاملThree-band superconductivity and the order parameter that breaks time-reversal symmetry
We consider a model of multiband superconductivity, inspired by iron pnictides, in which three bands are connected via repulsive pair-scattering terms. Generically, three distinct superconducting states arise within such a model. Two of them are straightforward generalizations of the two-gap order parameter while the third one corresponds to a time-reversal symmetry-breaking order parameter, al...
متن کاملViewpoint Not all iron superconductors are the same
We are facing a new paradigm in superconductivity research with the discovery of superconductivity in iron pnictides (LaFeAsO, SrFe2As2, BaFe2As2, etc.) and the iron chalcogenides (FeTe and FeSe). Both classes of ironbased materials, for some as yet unknown reason, have proven to be fertile ground for novel superconductivity, with the transition temperature of the pnictides racing above 50 K. A...
متن کاملScanning Tunneling Spectroscopy and Vortex Imaging in the Iron-Pnictide High-Tc Superconductors
Last year, 22 years after the discovery of high-Tc superconductivity in the cuprates, superconductivity was discovered up to 55K in a second family of materials: the iron-pnictides. This new discovery has generated tremendous excitement for several reasons. First, there is hope that the iron-pnictides will finally provide the foil necessary to understand the enormous yet puzzling body of resear...
